Why does pigmentation occur? Uneven pigmentation affects most people, regardless of ethnic background or skin color. Skin may either appear lighter or darker than normal; there may be blotchy, uneven areas, patches of brown to gray discoloration or freckling. Skin pigmentation disorders occur because the body produces either too much or too little melanin. Melanin is the pigment produced by melanocyte cells. It is triggered by an enzyme called tyrosinase, which creates the color of skin, eyes, and hair shades.
Aside from sun exposure and hormones, hyperpigmentation can be caused by skin damage, such as remnants of blemishes, wounds or rashes. This is especially true for those with darker skin tones.
DR's Secret for Skin Lightening - How it Works
DR's Secret is used day and night for prevention of pigmentation and skin lightening. In the day, DR's Secret Sunscreen prevents UVA/UVB rays from reaching the skin to prevent formation of melanin.
At night, the use of DR's Secret Skinlight T3 and T4 complements each other to lighten and renew the skin by pushing out dead skin cells like pigmentation from within the skin to reveal new skin below. It also uses natural ingredients such as Arbutin and Kojic Acid in its formulation to lighten the skin.
DR Secret Cleanser & Toner
Basic skin care regime with daily Cleanser and Toner to be used during the day and night. Cleanser helps to remove impurities and dead skin cells after skin cell renewal by Skinlight T3 and Skinrecon T4. Toner helps to even out uneven skin tone and increase absorption rate of Skinlight T3 and Skinrecon T4. With combined usage of DR Secret Cleanser and Toner with Skinlight + Skinrecon and Sunscreen, skin lightening results can be achieved at a faster rate.

DR Secret T3 Skinlight for Skin Lightening
DR's Secret Skinlight T3 uses Kojic acid in its formulation. Kojic acid is a by-product in the fermentation process of malting rice for use in the manufacturing of sake, the Japanese rice wine. Research shows kojic acid to be effective for inhibiting melanin production.
Another ingredient used is Arbutin. Arbutin is derived from the leaves of bearberry, cranberry, mulberry or blueberry shrubs, and also is present in most types of pears. It prevents formation of melanin and drastically reduces pigmentation.
No hydroquinone (bleaching agent) is included due to adverse harmful effects. Only vitamins and plant extracts are used in the natural skin lightening formulation.
